Overview
Cheyenne County partnered with our team to resolve aging infrastructure challenges at the Courthouse, including failing HVAC systems, deteriorating windows, outdated electrical distribution, and envelope deficiencies. We conducted HVAC system selection and life-cycle cost analysis, secured a DOLA grant covering ~40% of costs, and implemented solutions beginning in 2021, concluding in 2022.
Solutions
Our team provided an Investment Grade Audit and EPC implementation addressing major infrastructure needs at the Courthouse. Solutions included HVAC replacement with high-efficiency systems, new controls, LED lighting and occupancy sensors, window and door replacement, electrical upgrades, security system installation, and interior finish improvements. Grant assistance and historical society coordination were also provided.
Results
The project generated verified utility and O&M savings exceeding $5,129 annually and is projected to outperform guaranteed savings by more than $400. Upgrades improved occupant comfort, reduced operational risk, enhanced energy efficiency (up to 30% savings in key areas), and modernized the historic facility’s infrastructure.
