The Super ESPC Program

CEG is part of a select group of energy service companies (ESCOs) to be awarded master Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs) by both the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Using these master ESPC contracts, CEG can complete up to $5 billion in energy-related work for federal agencies. These programs are designed to facilitate energy improvements in federal facilities by leveraging private-sector technology expertise and financing capabilities.


ESPC Basics

An Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) is a no-upfront-cost contracting mechanism in which the contractor incurs the cost of implementing energy conservation measures (ECMs) and is repaid from the guaranteed energy, water, and operational savings that result from these ECMs. After the contract ends, all cost savings accrue to the agency.
